HOSPITAL OPERATIONAL MANAGER

For smooth day to day functioning of Tulsi Eye Hospital (TEH) and its Vision Centres/City Centres, Tulsi Eye Hospital operations have to be handled very carefully with quality execution. Being a Hospital Operational Manager assures programs and services are implemented at the highest standards and patients receive the highest level of care. The Manager is responsible for monitoring the patient care services including OPD, IPD, OT services, Patients Care and Communication, Community Eye Care Services and updating policies, protocols and procedures to include regulatory changes.

Hospital Operational Manager will ensure that the services of TEH and its network are fit for purpose, are consistent, and meet both external and internal quality standards and requirements. This comprises legal compliance and Patients’ expectations. The role is concerned with monitoring and advising on the performance of the quality management system, producing data and reporting on performance, measuring against set standards.

Hospital Operational Manager needs to liaise with other managers and staff throughout the TEH’s and its network Vision Centres, Community eye care wing to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. The role needs to focus on changes and how to implement them and
provide training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.

Job Description:
• Assist the Medical Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in day-to-day operations (reporting to matters of Clinical to MD and all non-clinical for quality to CEO).
• Review Community Eye Care Services wing’s patients’ requirements and make sure they are met (Patients stay, food, transport, medicine, specs arrangements)
• Review existing policies and make suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them
• Staff allocations and their grievances in the hospital and community eye care wing
• Monitor and quality measure performance TEH and vision centres, community centres, hospitals’ and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements
• Monitor the operations, quality clinical and non-clinical excellence across hospital as applicable.
• Maintain and monitor the NABH/NABL accreditation standards.
• Use relevant quality tools and make sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business.
• Set standards for quality as well as health and safety
• Make sure that services meet international and national standards, report to NABH on quality
• Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
• Assess the effectiveness of changes made
• Data analytics and prepare presentations for the data pertaining to TEH
• Coordinate with all departments for obtaining data and other required documents in a timely manner.
• Assist and conduct internal audits and cross audits as required.
• Schedule meetings based on requirements stated by the reporting head and actively participate when needed to do so.
• Prepare and maintain minutes of meetings convened for the same.
• Training for staff as and when required.

Qualifications:
The position is open to all graduates, a degree in a relevant area, such as Masters in Hospital Administration along with knowledge about NABH and JCI. Experience is more important in this role. To be a Hospital Operational Manager typically requires more than 4 to 5 years of managerial experience.
