Elizabeth Kurian
Elizabeth Kurian is the Chief Functionary of Mission for Vision, an organisation committed to eliminating avoidable blindness and visual impairment.
She serves as Co-Chair of the World Health Organization Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for the Global SPECS 2030 initiative and is a Trustee of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.
Previously, Elizabeth was the Chief Executive Officer of Mission for Vision and held senior leadership positions at Sightsavers, including Global Director for Advocacy and CEO-India. She has also held senior research functions at Nielsen India and the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
With expertise in strategy, policy, and systems change, Elizabeth has led large-scale programmes that have influenced both national and global health policy and practice. A published researcher and recipient of awards, she also serves on several boards and advisory committees.
Elizabeth holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition (university gold medallist), has pursued an Executive Programme in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and has done management programmes at Harvard Business School and the Open University Business School, UK.
